Peace Makes Reflection Possible

Proverbs 27:19 ~ "As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart."

This picture is an awesome example of what we pray that this journey is to you our friends, our prayer warriors, and our fellow ministers of the Gospel. This is a picture taken at a lake near our house where Silas and I like to go fishing. It is such a clear picture of peace to me. This week as we have begun to fully embrace our new mission and calling to move to New Orleans I (dave) have had to take extra time to pray and ask God for peace. Peace that causes me to trust in God's leading and provision. We want to reflect a clear picture of Christ and His peace and we know that only happens when our lives and hearts are focused on Christ and fully trusting Him. If water is stirred by a passing wind, the reflection of what is above the water is almost impossible to see clearly. In the same way, if our hearts are troubled and anxious about the future and not at rest trusting God fully, we will not be able to reflect the love and peace that Christ wants the world to see. So we ask that you pray for us as we write letters, make phone calls, share coffee, play with our children, enjoy summer, make new friends, minister to students, and plan our next steps. We simply want to have peace so we can reflect.
