Song of Truth

“The Lord our God is with you. He is mighty to save. The Lord will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

A few days ago, a new friend prayed for us. He prayed that the Lord would continue to lead us as a family, and specifically asked that God would use our children to point us to Him. God has and continues to reveal Himself to us through these precious gifts of Silas and Myah. They teach us so much by their flexibility in traveling, their joy in new experiences, their trust in the midst of ever-changing circumstances, their laughter in sheer delight, and their love that flows in ever-sweet hugs.

I mean, really, the last few weeks have not been “normal” routine for two preschoolers. I’ve been rather amazed at their endurance! In the last 44 days, we have slept in 11 different cities, driven over 4100 miles, crossed through 11 states, visited 4 time zones, and completed more Highlights puzzle books than should ever be allowed! You know your kids are accustomed to road trips when your 5-year-old thinks a 3-hour car ride is a short trip! And through all of this moving and transition and meeting new people, our kids have continued to sing and laugh and play. So it was the other day, as we drove home from yet another long trip, that I captured Myah singing her heart out in the back seat. The Word of the Lord rang out clear and true. I rejoiced in the truth that the Lord our God IS WITH US! I have needed Him to quiet me with His love. I have doubted that He takes delight in us, and I needed to embrace that. What a blessing that He rejoices over us with singing. I pray you hear Him today, and listen well to what He says. He takes great delight in you.
